Bio
My name is Ruben Olavo Vicente. I was born in Lisbon, Portugal on the 10th of August, 1981.
I have a degree in Physics by Universidade de Lisboa, and a master degree in Computational Physics by Univeritat de Barcelona and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. I currently work at Accenture and live in Lisbon.
If you would like to know what else I do with my free time, I like motorsports, martial arts, and travelling.
Photography
I started photographing a bit late, only in 2004, with a digital compact Kodak DX6490. I must confess that if it wasn't for digital I probably wouldn't be photographing today.
Anyway, I got addicted, and one year later I bought my first DSLR, the Canon 20D, which was and is a fantastic camera. It took me a while to learn all the tricks and all the theory behind real photography. As of today I feel I still have a lot to learn and I'm always looking forward to improve my knowledge and technique.
Although I started photographing lots of subjects, I now concentrate on my favourite two, which are nature and travel. I love to watch animal's behaviours, to be amazed by stunning landscapes and to learn and be involved in other cultures.
I've decided to display large images in this site, since my goal is for the end user to appreciate the photographs and their details, something that in these days is hard to see online.
